A DRAMATIC MURDER.

REVENGE FOR WIFE ABDUCTION. AMERICAN OFFICER'S CRIME. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. (Received August 18, 8.40 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 17.

Captain Hams, of the United States Artillery, with his brother Thornton Hams, the sous of General Hams, who distinguished himself in the Cuban and Spanish wars, committed a dramatic murder here.

The two brothers waited on'tho landing stage of the Yacht Club at Long Island, amid a crowd of fashionable pleasure-seekers, until William Annis, the New York publisher, landed. Then Captain Hums shot Annis six times, while his brother with a revolver kept the crowd back. Mr Annis died of his wounds. Captain Hams declares that Annis ruined his young wife.

Foreseeing the collision, Mrs Annis vainly tried to prevent her husband from landing on the stage.
