NEWTON KING'S REPORT
Mr Newton King's weekly auction report is as follows: — At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a fair entry of pigs and a good demand. Stores brought 30s to 425, small 14s to 19s 6d, weaners 8s to 13s 6d. Trap £13, hack £6. At the mart there was keen competition for poultry^ Cockerels 2s 4d to 2s Bd, pullets 2s Bfl to 3s 9d, ducks 2s 5d to 2s (3d. A quantity of sundries sold at prices in favour of buyers. Fruit. — At sales during the week prices were as follows: — Oranges 10s to 12s, bananas (green) 6s to 7s, 6d. Apples are in full supply. Hobart stunners 10s to 10s 6d, Pearmains 7s 3d to lls, crabs 93 to 10s.
