WELLINGTON, May 30. Returns of the value of grass seed supplied to settlers by the Government, as a result of tne serious bush fires early in the year, show that the amount expended Was over £25,000. Details are: — Auckland, 201 settler supplied with seed to. the value of £788* ; Hawkes Bay, 8 settlers, £133; Taranaki, 102 settlers, £1515; Wellington, 319 settlers; £13,223 ; : Nelson; 44 settlers,. £1023 r Maribdrough, 21 settlers, £168 L; Southland, 1 settler, £17 10s.
