THE LOAN AND MERCANTILE - REPORT.
AUCKLAND, May 20. The' Loan and Mercantile Company, Ltd., report : Horses.— At the Durham yards on Friday horses were yarded in full numbers. ' Heavy draughts sold at from £32 to '£48 10&; "medium do., £21 10s to £30; backs and light harness: horses,- £5 15s to £20 ; weeds and ponies £2 5s to £6 16s ; taxcart, £15 ; Courtland waggon, £30. Cattle. — At tho Newmarket yards on Tuesday there was a moderate yarding of 7 dairy and store stock and a full supply of beei. Dairy cows sold at from ,£4 10s to £8; empty do., £2 to £2 los ; calves, 15s "to £1 Bs. Beef sold at lower rates than the previous week, oxen selling to 22s per 1001 b. and cows 17s to 20s per 1001 b. Steers sold at from £5 15s to £9 10s; oows, £3'los to £7 10s. Sheep were penned in f ull\ numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday and sold at lower rates, wethers realising from 13s to 19s 3d; ewes, 12s 9d to 16s 9d; hoggets, 10s 6d to 12s 9d; lambs, 8s to 12s. The advertised 2000 store ewes sold at from .bs 3d to 13s 6d. Pigs. — Porkera sold at from £1 2s to £1 19f| weaners, 5s 6d; to los; baconers,,£9fWto £3 13s. '
