INQUEST AT WESTPORT.
SERIOUS CHARGES POSSIBLE. Per Press Association. WENTPORT, May 10. At the inquest concerning tho death of lOrncst «lohn Burke, who was found in a stable in a dying condition, a docu»r <*avo evidence as to a number of cuts and bruises on deceased's face and body. He said ho did not think there 1i:k1 boon foul play. Later information suggests, however. that some serious charges may arise. Three in or are at present in custody, one for leaving tlio s.s. Cauopus without leave. Police inquiries arc also being made for the cook of a vessel now in port. The police are also making inquiries as to tho whereabouts of those ?<ii'j> on tile night of tho death of Burke.
