RUGBY NOTES.
The Auckland Rugby Union is re^ plying to an invitation from Wanganui^ stating that as the Union is not sending a team to Taranaki, a visit cannot bo paid to Wanganui. — Press telegram. The London Sportsman of March 4 states:— "D. Macgregor, the famous New Zealand three-quarter, who played for the team which has just left England, and also for the famous amateur combination two years ago> intends settling down in Gloucester. He is starting business as a sports outfitter, and expects to open^a- large shop in that city within & few days. Jd&cgregor held a lucrative post in* New Zealand under the Colonial Government, but' has just resigned it, as he has. no intention of returning to New Zealand-, at 1 least for three or four years.'' The colours of the New Plymouth Association Football Club for the approaching season will be black and white (black knickers and black and white striped shirt). The following have been elected officers of the club for the ensuing year : — -President, Dr. Walker ;, vice-presidents, .Messrs W- G. Malone, R. J. Deare,' A. '" Coates, Browne and Evans ; captain, J. Smart ; secretary, V. Colbeck.
