ANNUAL MEETING.
The fourth annual meeting of the, Fitzroy Fire Brigade took! place last night. Captain F. C. Griffiths presided. There was almost a full muster of members. >
Two new members, Messrs G. Birch and G. Kibby, were eWted. The re-. signation of Fireman T. Hook was received with much regret. " \ Fireman W. H. Griffiths gave an interesting report of the proceedings at tho U.F.B.A. Conference, at which he was the brigade's delegate. Amongst the matters that interested- thft brigade was the ruling he obtained from the president as to the definition of "standing," this having been the ground of » protest at the. recent competition in the Recreation Grounds. Fireman ' Lamb was elected secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Weller declining nomination. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring secretary for his services, and a warm tribute of praise was accorded him by the excaptain. • ■• An approximate statement of receipts and expenses in connection with the recent pazaar was presented ,to the Electing. TWs showed that about £28 would be the ne\ .profit.., It was consraered that such an excellent result reflected the greatest credit on the district, and especially on the Ladies' Committee. A neary^vote of thanks was accorded to the? 'Ladies* Committee, the Garrison Band, and all who assisted in promoting -the success^ of the bazaar.* 4jn appreciation, of the efforts of theladies to help the finances, it was de» (fded to invite them to a social evening on a date to be arranged/ and , a special ■ committee was appointed to arrange the details.
