Urenui, April 8.-* A very popular wedding took place in St. John's Church on Wednesday, the contracting parties being Miss Margaret Emmeline Fuller 1 , the third daughter o^ Mr. and -Mrs. Fred Fuller, of urenui, and Mr. Leslie Fraser, of the firm pT Fraser and Bryant, the local' butchers. The church was packed,' The. Bey., Dent officiated. The bride was vety prettily .dressed in a dress . pf oream silk, and the bridesmaids, Misß Doris Pigott and Miss Kate Fuller. ■ wore dresses of white and cream, sills , and carried baskets 6f sweet peas. , The bride was given away by her father. Mr< ryaht acted as bdst man. The presents, which numbered considerably over A hundred/ showed the esteem in which the young couple are held in the district. After the ceremony about one hundred and fifty guests were entertained,' in the halL which was very prettily decorated.' Mr. and Mrs. Fraser left r amidßt "shot and shell" to catch the evening train- for , a short holiday. . , . • The - latest arrivals in the' district are Mr, Taylor and family, of Kaimate. Mr. Taylor has bought what was till lately Cpxhead's farm, -near "the township. He intends to.ie-sow ahd work it thoroughly.' . . A case of. typhoid fovw is reported from the Maori pah here. A young man called Tutaki is affected. He is likely to be removed to the hospital. We are hoping the weather wul keep fine so that the metaHing jobs may be finished before the winter- sets in. During the last rain » bridge across the upper - Tongaporutu, - about fifteen 'j miles up the Okau, was washed away j and came ashore ,jtyss. behind Mr. SkihopS house on the main road. '
