DRUNKENNESS AND OLD AGE PENSIONS.
Per Press Association. . . AUCKX.AND, April 8. t . The Auckland branch of the .Liberal and Labour Federation to-night carried a motion expressing the opinion that the Old Age Pension, Act did not fulfil the functions for which it was originally intended, and referring the whole question to the council for consideration. The particular provision of the Act objected to was that which penalises' pensioners for drunkenness by depriving them of pensions for five years.
