. GRIFFITHS AND dO.'S LONDON REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co., Dairy Produce Exporter*, New Plymouth, have roceived the following market report from their "London principals, Messrs Mills, and Sparrow, dated Febniarfr 28:— Butter—The market for butter has < boen demoralised, and the strong adnances which we were reporting for a few weeks, came to a sudden stop. Buyore, stopped operating, and it was then difficult to state at what price the market would settle when business' was once jtnore resumed. The conditions this week have, remained pretty well tho dame as those ruling last week, ittid it has been exceedingly difficult to place butters at any price, whilst holders in endeavouring to, 1 find*a level at which business could be resumed, reduced prices about 58 daily. Yesterday Copenhagen boldly met the difficulty and reduced their prides eighteen kroner (20s 3d) which is f[he biggest drop on record, and to-day we may say that values recorded below represent fair market values at which? there, is some business passing^ so ihat'we ar4 hoping from now on- trade will resume normal conditions and get away from the •'panicky' 1 feeling that has been ruling? the situation'for«tb.» lasti three'or four, weeks. Australian:. The very small arrival this week ex Oruba with 10,000 boxes wad not noticed, as .considerable quantities were, left ofer t from last week's arrival per si.s. Mongolia and Esses, consequently there has. been a surplus of butter offering, and with the rapidly declining prices very'little business lias transpired, untft the close of the market, when values are as under, and more business doing. New Zealand/: Quite a large proportion of tho butters landed'per loflio last week remain unsold^ and vw?y considerable reductions have, Jiad to be ,mado to induce business. ' Oheese.-^Canadian; There has been a steady.trade throughout the week And prices tibntftme firm.
