SUTTON'S DEVON" EAVER RYE. IT IS PERENNIAL and IT WILL NOT RUN OUT. There is nothing new about Sutton's, Devon Eaver — It is over 100 years old I — ♦ As Rye Grass is the principal grass in all pastures for sheep or cattle, it is very important that the greatest caution and care be exercised in securing seed which will prove perennial and will not run out. Experience in England has proved that seed saved by Suttons, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all time, but one which has easily a a greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies , in this Colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay ware all laid down with this seed more than fifty years ago, and are as goad to-day as they ever were; ia fact, each year they improve. AUo, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of Rye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down with this old Devoashire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It has held better thin all the seeds since sown and gathered in the Colony. Although the bsst colonial rye, even from Missi jn Stations, may die out in time, the Devon Eaver, brought hei|e by the Missionaries some fifty years ago, though sawn in ma.ny different localities, remains in the ground to-d*y; this applies alsp to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years ago. - Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Rye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Sutton's Devon. Eaver. This is such a well-known fact amongst the mote observant Taranaki farmers that we were pressed on all sides to get- supplies from Suttons of this seed.^ We have sold out our first two shipments, and the .third,' comprising 20 tanks, has just arrived per . Corinthic. A large quantity of this has been booked for all parts of Taranaki by. our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Rye all comss out ie sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. # P.S. — Don't confuse Sutton's Devon Eaver Rye Gr«ss Seed with other seed ' sold as imported English Perennial Rye - there is as great a difference as between sunshine and darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which has been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a furtner warranty of satisfaction. ' - ' Remember it is the only true PERENNIAL RYE.
