Among recent callers at the London office of the New Zealand Government was Mr T. Wright, formerly of this district, but now of Winnipeg. sMr George Corke, a former^ wellknown resident of New Plymouth, who has for some years been in South Africa, is spending a short holiday here. Yesterday ne was at the races, where he renewed many old acquaintances. A London cablegram announces the death of Lady Tdzer, wife of Sir Horace Toaer, Agent-General for Queensland. Mr J. W. Johnston, chief grader at llio Moturoa Freezing Works, returned to New Plymouth last night.
