ZULU TROUBLES.

TWO THOUSAND MEN FOR THE FRONT. OIUGIN OF THE HOSTILITIES*. By Elecfcric Telegraph.— Copyright. (Received December 4, 7 AT n.ni.) NATAL, December 3. Ten trains full of troops have gone to GingingMovolo. Nearly 2000 men are participating in "the operations in Zuiu- , land. [Tka immediate object of the expedition is to arrest the notorious chief Jhnizulu on a .charge of treason, and to drive the Zulu fbfest for marauders, "he white settlers appear to be convinced that they are m serious peiul. At a public meeting held at Eshowe, a resolution was passed to the effect that it was necessary for railway and strategic purposes that Imperial troops should immediately be stationed iii the _iow». -.The tone of the meeting wa,s emphatic, but not alarmist. Eshowe is in the heart of Zululand, and tho N'Kandhla Forest, in which all the earlier fighting in Jast year's rising took place, intervenes between it and Pietcrmarifcaburg. Fifty additional Natal police were' sent there recently, but this was not enough, and an appeal for further >ud showed how serious the situation liad become. When the last rising was quelled it was* freely prophesied tHat another upheiival was bound to com« soon. The Zulus have been verifying this prophecy since. A few of their recent acts of malevolence are the at- ■ tempted burning of the Umhlatiiai bridge, the shots fired at a sergeant of the- Natal police at the N'Kandhla Magistracy, the attack on a mail runner near the same outpost, and the murder of the loyal chief Sitsitsheli. During the rebellion raised by Bambaata last year, DinizuJu's loyalty was much discussed; though he made offers to assist tho authorities. In May, 1906, Mr rf M. Stainbanfcs, a District Magistrate, was shot, and in January last statements were mado at the trial of a, Zulu implicated in the affair that Dinizulu was also concerned in it.]
