SUTTON & SONS' SEEDS.
One of the most striking displays on the ground is the stand of Messrs Sutton <fc Sons, , the Royal seedsmen of England, for whom Messrs Griffiths & do. are the sole agents for Taranaki. The first thing to attract attention is the practical nature of the exhibit. Entering the stand under the great white and gold name of the firm, the visitor sees glass cases, nicely finished and arranged in their proper order, having seeds of various kinds used on the farm both for root crops and for permanent and temporary pasture. Below these are cases containing the flowered heads of various grasses, taken from pastures that have been under observation arid experiment for over 40 years. There are also exact models of various roots grown on the farm, such as mangels, Swedes and turnips, somewhat after the style of the large exhibit presented, by Messrs Sutton & Sons to the New Zealand Government. It is stated that thisfirm bestows as much care and attention, regardless of expense, on tho selection of their pedigree roots, clovers, etc., as the noted breeders of prize
stock do'out.'ticrer.^^is will convoy some idea of haw they' have earned and maintained for a century tho name they now bear for all that is best in the seed trade. Mr- Featherston, who" is in charge of the exhibit, is pleased to give the fullest information on' all matters connected with the firm. Messrs Sutton & Sons' seeds can only be obtained through their authorised agents. All statements that Sutton's seeds can be obtained from others are absolutely misleading.
