Mills & Sparrow*, dated September 27th: — Butter-^-The demand for choicest butter of all descriptions is steadily increasing, and as the make north of the equator is naturally decreasing there is a little more keeness amongst buyers, and prices remain firm. The reports of dry weather from Australia are also adding a little zest to the business, but w> are hoping that the weather in the antipodes will speedily improve, so that shipments may at least reach last year's level. Australian: We have had a few new season's butters this week per Militiades, and generally quality has been excellent, Victorian, New South Wales, and Queensland butters' all coming'well up to their best standard. We think the Queensland butters landed this week are some of the best that have come to this market. There is a good demand for all choice lots and a little more enquiry for the cold stored parcels. New Zealand: There is nothing' fresh to report. The prices oil l ? the small lots that have recently landed are improving, whilst the col3-stored parcels, which, generally speaking, are not very satisfactory in quality, are being steadily absorbed. Cheese — Demand is quiet, and there has been no material change in values' during the week. VICKERS & STEVENS' REPORT.
