The draft programme of the Trentham rifle meeting is now ready. The' champion prize, with the belt, is increased to £50. A special match for rifle c?lub men, to be fired simultaneously with the volunteer mate&, has been added to the programme. Otherwise the meeting is on the same lines as last year. If a team is required for Bisley a special series of matches' will be fired to decide its personnel. Competitors will be permitted to use the new wind-gauge* slide as provided by the "Imperial War Office and used at the last Bisley meeting..The Government has cabled for a supply. Pull of trigger can be reduced to five instead of ten pounds. Some alteration will be made in the targets at 200 and 300 yards. They will be 4ft x 4ft, with bull's eye 6in, inner 15in, magpie 24in. The inner is divided from the bull's'eye by a faint white line not visible to thefirer. The range is in excellent order. Many improvements have been effected ! during the*jrecess. j The firing mounds have been levelled and sown in grass, and where this could not be done new turf has been laid. - The new wind gauge slide mentioned i 3 provided with two "V" notches, one for use with the leaf down and one for dse with the leaf up. The slide is joined to the elevation slide by means op a dovetail groove, and is capable of bying adjusted Literally to allow for wind. A scale is marked on the back edge of the slide, each division of which' gives an allowance of six per 100 yards. This sliding bar is undoubtedly of a very serviceable pattern.
