BOXING.

A contest for the feather-weight professional boxing championship of New Zealand has been arranged to take place in New Plymouth in a few weeks' time. The contestants will be "Billy" Murphy, of Stratford, who has held the championship for a great number of years, and Thomas Tuohy, of New Ply"mouth. Both men are now in active training. The New Zealand Amateur lioxing Association has granted the necessary permit. A purse has been of--fered and sids wagers deposited. Mr E. Sexton, of Stratford, is the donor of the purse. This will be the first occasion on which New Plymouth has been the scene of a championship fight. Professor J. J. Stagpoole will be the referee and Mr Cody timekeeper.
