SLY CROC-SELLING CASES.

(Per Press Association.) INVERCAHGILL, June 28. The Shamrock Hotel cases .which were adjourned lest the issue of them might prejudice the appeal before the Supreme Court, were proceeded with today. Margaret MeCauliff pleaded not guilty to a charge of having sold whisky on April 10th, and was convicted and discharged. She pleaded not guilty also to a charge of having kept whisky and beer for sale, and was convicted and . discharged. ; William Meikle, Joseph Hartnett, and Martin Campbell were ojiarged * with having assisted in the sale of whisky. Counsel for the defence submitted that to assist in "a sale"orie rnnst be on the side of the seller, and the magistrate reserved his decision.
