The-Whakatika Girls' Cltrtrdefeated Inglewood on Thursday by five goals to one xm the lattar's.ground, whiohwas in a very- heavy co.ndition. r , M>isses Hanfaa/McEwe^yarid P^riJq; spored for the" winners,, ,: the latter twice^the fifth goal being the result of a general scrimmage. A curious incident occurred during the match, the Inglewood team putting a player out at half-time and substituting another, for the reason that the one put out was not much good. Had the result been reversed such tactics would perhaps lead to the match being declared void or forfeited. The Atarangi-Waimarie match, which was to have been played at Stratford, did not eventuate, the Waimarie Club, it is understood, having withdrawn from the cup contests.
