WRECK OF THE KIA OR A.
NO BODIES RECOyERED. A NAUTICAL INQUIRY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 19. Inspector Cullen has received a telegram from Constable McCarthy at Kawhia, who estimated that eight persons were drowned in the wreck of the Kia Ora.^ So far no oodi'es have been re-, covered. It has been decided to hold an inquiry into the wreck of the Kia Ora in Auckland. . It was thought at first it would be heW in New Plymouth*, but as \most of the witnesses are here it has been decided to hold it here. The date has not yet been fixed. ! The Opunake Times says : "Mr Rongo Ross was a brother of Mr Donald Ross, of the Opunake Times staff, and was 20 years*of age. He was on. his way from the South Island to join a brother on a : •section at the back of Kawhia-'-VWheTi the news of the wreck became ' known ,Mf D. Ross did not know at that time that<his brother had left the South. It .' was only by communicating with his a other brother that he heard the sa<l news that his brother Rongo was -lost.'.
