NEW MAIL CONTRACT.

Sir William Lyne, in an interview regarding the mail contract, said thai when the Hon. Thos. Bent's offer was made in London, he told members of the syndicate that it was simply impossible to admit the right of one State ifo receive advantage over the others. That position he still adhered to. As t£ Victoria's latest offer, Sir W. Lyne declared that the contract was a Federal matter, and what a State says it is wiling to do may be a different thing.
