Mr Jack Fleming, a member of the local staff of the Department of Agriculture, has received notice of his transfer to Wellington and leaves towards I the end of the present month. Mr Fleming is a good all-round sport, and will be missed in cricket circles, as well 1 as by brother anglers. ' — Mr and Mrs G. H. Morgan left New Plymouth for Onehunga on Saturday night, en route for Suva, Fiji. Mr Morgan has been* promoted to the position of manager for the Union SS. Co. at Suva. Inspector Wilson, in charge of this .police district, is, with Mrs Wilson, on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr Frank Cornwall has been rather seriously indisposed for some days. Mr. David McKenie, a machinist at the Petone Railway Workshops, has decided to stand as a Liberal candidate for the.Hutt seat at next general election. Either Mr. John Duthie or Dr. Newman will be invited to stand as Opposition candidate. Mr. S.^ Davison, stationmaster at Ohingaiti, has been transferred to Waitara. He was entertained to a farewell gathering at Ohingaiti on Friday night," when presentations were made from the railway staff and the residents. 1 iV "
