A RESOLUTION OF SYMPATHY.
Our Waitara correspondent writes: — The monthly meeting of members of the Waitara Harbour Board did not transact business on Friday, owing to several members being out of the district. Before adjourning, Mr. Jennings, M.H.R., referred to the distressing loss of the Kia Ora and death of Captain Blacklock, and moved the following resolution: "That the members of the Waitara Harbour Board wish to place on record their deep regret and condolence with the members of the family of the late Capt. Blacklock at the regrettable event which led to the disaster whereby he lost his life when the Kia Or,a was wrecked at Terua point on July 13. | The sad news of the disaster came- as a great shock to the people of Waitara. Captain Blacklock, skipper, was highly esteemed and a general favourite amongst the seafaring men and the travelling public.
