Lord Lansdowne said that the real canker: in Ireland was the tyranny of the illegal organisations eating the country's vitals, and trading on the worst passion*. The Right Hon. W. H. Long (a late <?hief Secretary for Ireland) declared that enforcing the iaw was the only . means of obtaining prosperity. Resolutions were carried, amidst enthusiasm, condemning the Government's Irish policy, arid demanding the vigorous administration of the law. '
