ROBBERY FROM A SHIP.

AUCKLAND, June 11. Two young men named Charles George Frederick Pepper and Herbert Howlett were charged with having received money knowing it to have been stolen from the steamship Navua. The accused pleaded not guiltyl It will be remembered that 1000 sovereigns were stolen- from the boat, and) that two men, Christie and .Manning,; the third officer and a seaman respectively, were found guilty of having stolen the. money, and are now undergoing sentence. Pepper was charged with having received £230 of the money, and Howlett £182. The 'WFy »i -after a ! twenty minutes* retiren*snt, brqught in a verdict <5f not guilty, and prisoners were discharged.
