COUNTRY MATTERS.
(To the Editor,)-
Sir, — I have^se»n'by>the paper where an unfair attack waVmade by a,con-> tractor on the Southterii Omata -foreman at last meeting of the Council. The foreman has g f iye n every satisfaction to the ratepayers ■ since he commenced work. More than that, he has dried up all the fish ponds and lagoons ground Okato, which, was. very much appreciated. Now.if ..the contractor has underestimated hid ■• contract and has ' taken the carting fivepence per yard cheaper than o^her contractors he has got to put up with the consequence and should not throw tl|e blame on the foreman. — I am, etc., "_'_.. F AIRPLAY.
