INGLEWOQP S.M. COURT.
Monday, June 10. — Before Mr, A. Turn- • 'imff, -S.M. The only - defended case was that of Standing. ,v. W/Haslett; claim £2. Plaintiff was nonsuited with costs 21s. Mr r Thomson ; for plaintiff, and Mr. F. Wilson for defendant.
Eleven cases were either confessed, paid into courier struck out. A. SowerVy v7"S. W. Sowerby. Defendant was phargexl with^-disobeying an order of the Court made under "The Married Persons Summary Separation Act." The defendant was arrested in Christchurch antt appeared here on remand. After^hearing evidence, the Magistrate orctered defendant to pay £13 10s, being amount of arrears up to the issue of a warrant ; in default, one month's imprisonment in Lyttelton Gaol; the warrant to be suspended for one' month. 'The original order was also varied^ from; 30s to 15s per week as from 13th' inst. solicitor was allowed "£f' v ls*. Mr. Thomson- ior complainant, and Mr. Crombie for defendant. - - • i - • :
Six local Justices waited on the Magistrate to^day f v,Mr. H. Brown being spokesman, and,! pointed out the inadequate court accommodation. They asked his Worship to, assist in having a courthouse erected at Ingle wood. In reply Mr. ;-Turntbull said he entirely agreed with the" deputation, and would do all he could *» further the suggestion.
