BRITAIN AND THE COLONIES.

A deputation representing Mr Kinloch Cook's Central Emigration Board and other emigration agencies, several of the Agents-General and Lord Ranfurly, vaitpd on Mr Deakin, and discussed tho advisability of co-operative action. Mr Deakin' explained that if the States supply land, and undertake to look after immigrants on arrival, the Commonwealth Government will do the advertising and assist in every way. oYher colonial speakers indicated that Australians in London interested in omigration wished to take advantage of tho present favourable juncture to advance ~the cause. After discussion, the opinion appearod to prevail that it would be better to try to arrange for co-Operation between the various scattered agencies through the Central Emigration Board. It is intended to invite the Agents-General to assist the- board with advice and information.
