Horses — Heavy draughts sold at from £26 5s to £38; medium Tio., £16 10s to £32; hacks and light harness horses, £6 10a to £18 ; Cortland waggon, £30 ; sulky, £12 10s. The hurdle horse Nestator realised 530 guineas, the trotters Empress 22 guineas, Woodbine 35 guineas, and Iniperator 17 guineas.
Cattle — At the Newmarket Tards on Tuesday dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £6 15s ; empty cows, £1 15s to £2 18s ; calves, 15s to £1 6s; grown steers, £4 58 to £6 10s. The beef market showed a firmer tone. We quote : Ox beef to 21s per 1001 b., cow 17s to 19s. SteeYs sold at from £6 5s to £10 10s ; cows, £3 5s to £6 10s. The cattle were mostly light weights. Sheep— Wethers' sold at from 18s 9d to £1 2s 9d ; ewes, 15s 6d to £1. Lambs were in full supply and sold for wellfatted from 10s 6d to 15s; other 8s 6d to 10s. The advertised 1000 store ewes from Gisborne and the East Coast sold at from lls to 13s.
Pigs — Porkers sold at from 15s 6d to £1, 65 ; baconers, £1 15s to £2 8s ; weaners, 7s 6d to 12s 6d. Butter— Prime separator 8d to Bsd; milling quality, 7jd.
Cheese is selliag slowly at 6Jd to 6|d for prime factory. Fungus is selling freely at sd.
