JENKINS, MATTHEWS AND PIGOTT'S REPORT.
Jenkins, Matthews - and Pigott report : — We held a stock sale at Uruti on the loth inst., but owing to the dirty weather prevailing there was a poor muster of stock and a limited attendance of buyers.
Lambs made from 6s 3d to 7s Bd, calves 13s to 15s, yearlings 18s, store cows 42s 6d to 445, empty heifers 30s.
At Urenui on Monday we had a full yarding of all classes of cattle, and nearly every pen changed hands at the following prices: —
Pigs (slips) 4s, shorn lambs 5s to 9s sd, woolly lambs 10s, f.m. ewes 6s 3d to 10s, fat and forward weathers 15s, calves 14s to 14s 6d, 18-months heifers 255, ditto steers 455, store cows 30s 6d to 595, fat cows 75s to 81s, do. heifers 70s to 80s 6d, 2-year heifers 51s, cows in calf 535, 2£-year steers 655, trap and harness £14, pony 37s 6d.
We had a fair muster at Waitara on Tuesday, considering the weather, which rained very heavily during the morning.
Calves made 15s, 18-months steers 465, store cows 37s 6d to -10s, forward cows 455, fat cows 695, springing heifers 68s, bull 40s, hack 355.
