AUCKLAND, March 22. Messrs. Buckland and Sons report: — Horses — Young active farm horses were . sought for. Aged draughts brought £15 to £26 15s, young light sorts £20 to £25 ss, heavier £26 15s to £30, buggy horses and good hacks £15 to £23, ordinary £6 15s to £13 10s, gig ponies £3 15s to £8. Hides, tallow, skins, etc. — Hides: Ox s|d to 6|d, cow s|d to 6§d, stags 3Jd to 4|d, horse 5s 3d to 14s 6d, calf 6d to 6sd, kip s|d to 6d, damaged hides 3£d to s§d, tallow 22s 6d to 265, bone^ 4s 9d to ss, horse hair Is 6d to Is Bd, Skins: Best pelts and lambskins 3s 4d to 3s 7d, country and dry Is lOd to 3s 3d, damaged lid to Is 6d. Cows near their profit from £2 10s to £7 10s. A full yarding of fat cattle ! sold well at recent values. Ox beef to 21s per 1001 b., cow 16s to 18s. Steers i ranged from £6 to £10 12s 6d, cows £4 10s to £7 15s (364 sold). Sheep fully kept last week's quotations. Best wethers from 20s to 24s 6d, lighter weights 15s to 19s, best ewes 16s to 22s 3d, others 7s to 15s (1710 sold). Three hundred and sixty-six lambs were penned. Prices were from 11s 6d to 16s 3d. Pigs, in average supply, were slightly easier; porkers to 355, baconers to 58s, small 8s to 15s (103 sold).
