A Tibuk tribe or robbers in Central Africa have recently given " much trouble, and a punitive expedition, comprising upwards of two companies df . infantry, was despatched against -them in the presence of Captain Booth, as political officer in Bornu. The infantry, showing smart work, closed up - the enemies' water-holes, . and then gradually stormed the Tibuk's strongold, consisting of 'piled-up boulders in crevices and caves in wnich the enemy were concealed. f The infantry, who wore padded coats and blankets, were constantly harassed by discharges of poisoned arrows. * The Tibuk's casualties totalled 300. On the British side Lieutenants Clayton and Thompson were wounded, 11 infantry men Were killed, and 40 wounded.
