Count Wladimir Lamsdorff, the famous Russian diplomat, who was yesterday reported to have been poisoned, and to be in a critical condition at San Remo, is dead. • , , (Count Lamsdo/rff was Russia!! Foreign Minister for a number of years. He was a son of -Count Nicholas Lamsdorff * A.D.C., General to the Emporor Alexander 11. ■ Entering the Foreign Office in 1866,. he was transferred to the Chancellery foreign Office in 1872, became First Secretary in 187§, Director of Chancellery in 1882, Senior Councillor in 1886, Assistant Foreign Minister in 1897, ,and-secretary of, State to the Emperor in 1902. He possessed all the Orders of Russia, including the Grand Cordon of St. Aiexandre Nevsky;) >■ (Pet Press Association.) . MARTONi March 21. Mr Samuel' Gibbons, sen., died at Marton last evening, after a short illness. Deceased was for many years proprietor of ,the White Hart Hotel, anq also took an active part in local politics.
