THE RECREATION GROUNDS.
(To the* Editor.) Sir Being a subscriber to the tunas of the Board, might, I offer a suggestion, viz., that an effort should be made to raise sufficient funds by specially ear-marked donations to extend the large lake at the top end in the direction of Mr King's residence where the rushes are now growing £ « tm f could be excavated to a depth of aboiit three feet and a width of a 0 feet it would develop a beauty spot second to none in the grounds. There would be no difficulty about water supply, as there is a running stream through the rushes. It is a pity we have not a Carnegie in the town, who, for a small outlay of about £250, would finance a contiact to do this work.— l
