GOLF.
A special general meeting of members of the Ngamotu Golf Cluh was held in the New Zealand Insurance Offices on Tuesday afternoon, when there was a fair attendance of members. Slight amendments to the rules as , suggested fty the Registrar of Friendly Societies were' confirmed. The links are now being got rapidly into order for the Easter tournament, and after the recent heavy rains the greens should soon be in capital condition. Entries elbse on March 25th.
Over 500 civil summonses were up to last week issued from . the Palmerston Magistrate's Court since the beginning of the year. This is -a numerical increase upon the figures for the corresponding period of 1906. Captain Edwin wired at 1.32 p.m.: — Northerly strong winds to gale after sixteen hours.
