(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, iftarch 15. A child named Thomas Win. Byron, aged two years and four months, wandered away from home in Westmoreland Street, Grey Lynn, to-day, and c*a the parents searching, they found :ts dead body floating in a cr<ek in Sackville Street, Grey Lynn. WELLINGTON, March 15. A stevedore named Henry Tobin, working on the Turakina this evening, fell down the hold, a distance of about 35 feet, falling on some bundles of rolled steel. He was removed to the hospital, where it was, found' he was suffering from a concussion of the brain, bioken collar-bone, and contused spine. He is in a precarious condition, DUNEDIN, March 15. The Coroner (Mr C. C. Graham) held an inquest this morning on the body of Robert Ernest Melrose, a boy seven years of age, who was drowned by falling into a septic tank belonging to the Borough Council at MosgieK Evidence showed that the tank was quite open, and there appeared to be t> o protection to prevent access to the water. • '<■ John Dicker, , a gardener, deposed that he dived into the well, but on account of the muddiness of the water exSerienced groat difficulty in finding the ■ ody. l The jury wefe of opinion that deceased was accidentally drowned, and added 10 this verdict that immediate steps should be taken to fence in the tank.
