Mi- A. F. West, of Ardrossan, South Australia, and Mr Bowman^of Yorke Peninsula, S.A., are staying in the town. They have been visiting the Exhibition at Christchurch, and are now on their way to Rotorua before proceeding home via Sydney. Both gentlemen are' delighted with New Plymouth, which they declare to be the prettiest 1 town they have. so far visited in New Zealand. They are , visiting Mr J. C. Legg. , At Wellington on. Wednesday Mr Bernard Crompton' Smith, son of- Mr Percy Smith, was admitted as a solicitor of the Supremo CJourt. Mr Harold Buddie, of Auckland, hita been appointed associate secretary to Mr Justice Button.
On making inquiries, on Thursday night we were informed that Mr E. M. Smith, M.H.R.,.was a.littlp better. Mr W. L. Fitzbertiert' Has told his legal practice to Mr' Cecil Wright, and will leaVe in aboat'tejx dtays or a fortnight for Palmerston North /where ho enters the firm of, Hankins and Loughnan, the , leading Manawatu lawyers. Mr Fitzherbert has been' a residenfof New Plymouth for about four years and has taken a keen interest in football, tennig, and other forms of sport, while Mrs Fitzherbert has proved a most popular arid* useful member of the Tennis Club. Both of them will be ,vory much missed in social circles., t Tho Hon. J.
