WEDDING BELLS.
At St. Mary's Church, on Thursday afternoon, 31r Wra. J. Upton, only son of Mr John Upton, of' New Plymouth, and formerly of Auckland w a s man»ed by the Rev. F. G.v Evans, to Miss Ivy Cock, fourth daughter of Quartermaster-Captain Oeorge Cock, V.D. (retired). The bride, .who was given away by her father, wore a soft white silk dress ttrimmed with si'k insertion, l'uched ribbon and chiffon. She wore the usual t wreath of orange blossoms and' a rich veil, and carried a white j>r a yer-book with white ribbon streamers. Tho bridesmaids (Miissos Edna and Olive Cock) were dressed r'n cream silk trimmed with heliotrope, wearing cre a m driffon hats '"trimmed with white ostrich feathers and heliotrope, and carrying a shower bouquets of \v<hite and helitrope blossoms, with heliotrope streamers attached. Mr J. Smith acted as best man. Tho bridegroom's present to the brick was a white opal brooch set with ruHes, and to the bridesmaids? gold brobeb^s se * With rubies and diamonds. The presents, were numerous and handsome, and included a Chinese afternoon tea set, received by the N bridegroom from his friends in the Garrison Band, and an engraved bisouit barrel from Messrs Oscar Hewitt and Company. A reception was held after the ceremony at the residence vof the bride's parents in Daw-son-strect, and a number of friends were entertained in the evening. In the afternoon the newly-niarriisi couple, left for the South, where the; honeymoon is to be spent. 1
