SWIMMING.
The committee of the New Ply- . mouth Swimming Club met on Friday evening and decided to hold an evening carnival at an early date. ' One item on the programme is a race across the bath in which all the com- , petitors will be fully clothed. After , swimming across the bath the garments will be taken off, and the competitors will then return to the starting point. A relay race will also 'be held. Swimmers from Hawera, Wanganui and other places will take parf in the carnival. 4 . ' . " l The secretary of the New Plyr month Swimming Jlub has received advice that the Hawera Swimming Club will hold a carnival* on the evening of January 23rd. The New Plymouth Club had suggested the same date for a meeting at the. Municipal Baths, but as. several local swimmers wish to go to the Hawera meeting the elate of the local meeting, has been left open.
