At th<* 'bog'innitig of next week (when the new custodian will be in charge) thp Baths Commiitee intends to mak-e an experiment with night i bathing. At first the Baths will be open on four evenings each week, two for ladies and two for gentlemen. , It wdukL seem that the Baths need emptying oftcner. On Thursday evening the water was lukewarm ; awl when it is 'so. salt water loses its characteristic invigorating -qualities. Quite a number of swimmers can now nightly be seen doing good rlis- i tances (up to 410 yds). It is understood that tlte next race put on by the Club will be i>ver 220 yds caretaker of the Municipal Baths has used the electric lights when he has had occasion to clean the bath during the night, and he says • the light given could not be bettered.
