ANNUAL CONFERENCE. BUSINESS SESSION. The. following Committees were appointed on Thursday afternoon : — Stationary Comrolittee : Revs. .J. Da-wson, R. Raipe, J. Guy, J. Cocker, W. S. Potter, E. Dr a ke, S. Henderson, J. Clover, T. A. Pybus, and Messrs King, ' G oldie, Wilkinson, Lill, HaM, Clark, Wafkinson, Ellison, and Jebson, with Mr D. Goldie a s •onvener and 1 the President j exofficio. Dawson, Guy, Olphert, Maim, and Potter, and Messrs Goldie, Watkinson, Vamey, ' TJII, and Horslcy. Complaints amd Aippeals Comimittee, Epv. J. Guy and <Mr J, Watkinson. 'A committee for the consideration of the education of ministerial candidates was appointed to consist of ih& Examiners toad tho Aigeirts of the "Education Fund. Pybus, late delegate to the English - Comfereoice, reported that he h?ad received a most hearty welcome to the Conference gatherings, and the public meetings in connection therewith had deeply impressed him, especially the Hartley lecture on "Tho Ethics of Evangelism" by the Rev. H. Yooll. A most impressive memorial service to deceased 1 minis- I ters was held, at which the late Rev. W. J. Dean received honourable mention. Temperance reform was not! so far advanced as was the case in the colony, and the members of the elmrch iff. England were urged to give diligent' heed to- the matter. The new wing of the Hartley Gollege was •pened during the Conference. The college was> -the- largest Divinity College in England. 3?he business of the Conference was quickly* despatched in a most orderly fashion, and there had been an increase of over 4000 members during the year the total membership now exceeding 210,000. The business for the New Zealand Conference was unanimously passed. " 3fr Pybus was heartily th&niked for the able manner in which* he 'had represented the ' New Zealand Conference.
