On Tuesday and Wednesday next a series of pictures that promises to be well worth seemg 'will be thrown upon the screen in the Theatre ' Royal. The New Zealand tour of lEdison's Pictures has been a great success, crowded audiences attending every performance. The most modern examples of animated photography have been secured from America, and' the programme will include an hour of -scenes 1 in American industrial, commercial, and! financial life. There will be films representing America at play and at work, and vivid representations oi the great metropolitan fire department fighting the flames at a New York fire. Another hour and a half will be devoted to diverting, films, including a ludicrous series of "chiase" pictures. A series 1 of splendid films will show the leading thoroughfares of San Francisco, before and after the earthquake, including one of the "actual blowingrutp ,of walls oy dynaimite, and the progress of the fire. tPhere will be pictures of beauty spots in Calif ornia .and other parts of the United States, anldj photographs of President" Roosevelt.
