A pretty and popular wedding was* solemnised at St. Mary's Oh-urroh onl Wednesday afCer-noon, wkem Mr Everard R. ~C. Gilmour wa« ' unaited inf matrimony with ' -Miss -Alice Teedy , youngest daughter of 'Mr B. Teed,, of New Plymouth. The- oeremooaX Wa>s! witnessed by ; a large nutmber .of friends, the Rev. F. G. The bride, who was given away; by her father, was charmingly at^trir- 1 ed in a creation of creaftn 1 ehi'ffotn, tat* feta silk, the -bodice 'being- ■ richly;' frottted with .fluted bells of silk! aindl lace trinwned with m'iaxute loops oS goffered silk ribbon, short poul sleeves finished with pleated chiffom taad lace. The skirt was* trimmed! with French knots. A beanirfafuß silk embroidered family veil andspxay; - of oramge 'blossoms oojmpleted a mosti tasteful* attire. The bride carried ai lovely shower bo«Sf:{uet of hyacinths, freesias, cleniiatrs, «md ma'idehhair fern! presented by Mrs J. C. Webster, Bms wore a 'large • cameo 'brooch set itfgold (:an -heirloom;), and a ling seti with, rubies and^ diamonds, ih,e gifts of the 'bridegroom. Tihe bridesmaids (Miss Emily\ifenne]l (chief) andjJttiss Katie Hall ..'were attired in costumes of pale 'blue, panniere 'niuslins o>v;er: silk, the bodices being drapeid ,wi*thi bertha of Limerick lac-e and silk, afflii yoke .of tucked chiffon and lace. They, wore cresde French sailor hats, mas 13 " 1 ed with shaded pink and creaan roses, and carried ahower bouofuets of cream and! whrite, made by Miss Skijiner.* The •bridegroom's gifts to the: bridesmaids' were pretty , pearl crescent brooches. Mr J. Fleming was in at-« tendance as best m a n and, Mr Walter Weston as groomsman. Mrs Teed wore 'a. handsome dress of black eolienne, let in with white satin and*
black lattice work and trimmed with, embroidered ivy leaves over b\aek silk, sleeves relieved with chiffon .and lace, black hat trimmed with cream and crimson roses ; Mrs Gilmour, blacki satin relieved with cream, black hat set off with pink roses, pink shower bouquet ; Miss Gilmour, white silk prettily trimmed,, with lace, wfi'to hat, wreath of small roses, cream shower bouquet ; Mrs S. Teed, pale blue Russian costume with embroidered! 'front, white chip ha.t shaded with |jink and blue ribbons and cream rose*, b®ugueti of daisies and wattle ; Mrs Watson, beautiful brown Irish poplin relieved with cream lace, brown* and cream Triconi- _hat, shower bouquet' of daffodils, clematis and ferns-;. Mrs White, handsome blacki satin, black bonnet with white trimmings, lace mantle, bouquet of nar-i cissus; Mrs Rundle, blacd mervetfleaux, heliotrope .hat. '' The "Wedding March" was played by Mr A. •n of good luck. Subsequently a reception was held »ij 'the residence of Mr and Mrs T«ed, "Raleigh," where the wedding breaKfast was spread in a large marque* on the lawn. There were over fifty, guests, and the usual toasts were felicitously honoured. A pretty ideal was the suspension from the canopy. - above of an artistically' desigvLejjl wedding bell (made by Mrs ■Watsotujy beneath which the bride and bridegroom were seated. The happy couplel were the recipients of some 120 fino wedding presents, in addition to w sheaf of congratulatory MH and Mrs Gilmour left by the afternoon train for 1 "the Wanganui River, where the honeymoon will be spent, and were accorded a rallying sendoff at the station.. The bride's travelling dress was a neat - tailor-miade costume of navy blue, cream hat and boa.
