Dyer, xm tbe application of the ' Crown, ordered the whole of the pigs to 'be destroyed. A- young man named NoranaxD Austin, a- pig-breeder at Penrose, was also fined for tbe 'same' offence, but though circumstances 'in 'bis case wer» described as worse 1 than in the -other, he iwafcl let off with a lighter penalty on account of his youth and! small^ means. IA charge of feeding pigs upon' unboiled offal was also, preferred' against Daniel Neilson,' of Onehunga, but in view if tbe fact tba't 'tbe case was not a flagrant one, a small fine of £1 only was imposed: Nieilson was also charged with "blowing" or '-'spouting" two caroases ofl veal, and for tMs he wds' fined '£5 and costs. 1 1 ' ' Palmerston North', Aug. 11. ■ lAft tbe S.M' ' Court thi® morning Emananuel While was fined :£5 and costs 28s for allowing swine to 1 feed on unboiled offal, to wit, tbe oarcase of a dead 'horse; also |£1 and costs 28s for leaving <tbie carcase <wi-tibin half a mile of a public road. The offences were 'acknowledged.
