I SERIOUS OUTBREAK liN SYDNEY.
Waited Press Association.— By M«Grtrie Telograph.— Copyright. June 30, 10.13 a.m. Sydney, June 30. A serious outbreak of plague has occurred at Balmain, and two deaths, a husband and wife, have taken place from primary plague pneumonia in its most contagious form. Only the strictest isolation will prevent its spread. . ; The nurse of the patients is now suffering from a suspicious illness. The health/ authorities say ' # tlwr disease is at least as oonta/gious as smallpox, with this added, that every one is susceptible. iWlhile in this form the disease is very much more to be dreaded. The 1 manner in> which it spreads, namely by • contagion, makes it ignore easily checked. The apparen.it sense of illness is slight and death comes unexpectedly.
