(Special to Herald.) Reef ton, October 21. Pactolus No. I. 520z lftlwts for 116 Hours, No. 11. 121ozs sdwts for 135 hours.

A (New* Pipe ("Glokar").— The mouthpiece of : this pipe Joes away with the great drawback of all ordinary pipes, viz., the unpleasant, and possibly injurious effect of xhe smoke upon thci tongue, as the oxul of the. stem has a smooth, concave surface, which, while forming a pleasant rest for the. tongue, acts as a barrior between it and the smoke. Instead of passing through an ordinary, round bore, the smoke leaves the mouth- 1 piere through a fan-shaped s-lot, v/hich is drilled in, an upward direction— thus preventing saliva from entering the bore of the pipe. — J. A very, Tobacconist.
