The Farmers' Union held its second social of the season \ last \ week and it is reported to have been a successful function.
The Mutual ' Improvement / Society held a short meeting on Wednesday evening, the, subject . chosen < being "Impromptu Speeches." It . was decided to adjourn 'on account of the political meeting held elsewhere.
Mr G. Tisoh, one of the candidates for the Taranaki electorate, addressed a well attended meeting in the hall on Wednesday evening. He received a good hearing, and in his happy style managed to make what is often a dry subject interesting. Judging by the number of* jquestions • asked Bahotu should be moit emlightened by the time the eight or nine gentlemen have addressed and sought their suffrages.
Rahotxi is asking "when the authorities are going to give them - an up-to-date Post Office. It 1 has / a fine Post Office site, let for considerably less than what is being paid for the present property. Will it end in talk or shall we see a structure at any rate eqtial to other "Coast re*[uirernents. Residents are saying *'O let it be soon." Farmers are commenting on the low price of stock.
