MESSES BUCKLAND AND SONS' REPORT.

Messrs Buckland and Sons report :

Horses.— Aged draughts! from £20 10s to £22, medium do. £18 to £28 ss, wafggon arid express horses to £37, light harness and hacks £6 to £13 10s, weeds and ponies all prices.

Hides, sikins, tallow, etc.— {Hides : Ox 4&d td s£d, cow 3f d . to| 4fd, kips 4-^d calfs£d to 5f d, stags j 2d to 3d, horses 5s fid to 7s, cow tails Is 6d per dozen, tallow 18s to 20s, bones (dry) 5s to 6s 9d, country butchers' 5s 6d to 7s 9d, smaller 2s 6d to 4s lOd. Grainj etc.-— Maize, in barely sufficient 'quantity, at 3s Id and 3s 2d,"ex wharf, in wholesale lines j fowl wheat 3s sd, oats firmer at 2s to 2s 4d, seed' Algerians 2s 6d to 3s 2d. Chaff: Inferior £3 5s to £4 15s, -best £5 to £5 10s. Bran £4 15s, sharps £6 15s, pigj meal £5 ste, pressed hay' £3 to £4, straw £3.

f Cattle.— At the monthly sale at Pukekohe on Monday there were yarded 850 head of cattle, 200 of which were cows and heifers. Dairy cows and heifers sold to £7 7s 6d,, dry to £3 10s, strong calves to 38s, yearlings to 45s', fat steers' to £10 7s 6d, cows to £6 15s. At Remuera on Thursday dairy and 1 store cattle sold at recent values. Fat and young calves sold freely, small to Bs, medium to 18s, heavy to 41s (104 sold). An average yarding of fat cattle of choice quality met with keen competition. Prices improved. Cow was to 235, steers ragged from £7 15s to £12 12s 6d, cows £5 10s to £9 10s, (273 sold). Sheep, in moderate numbers, were required. ' Best wethers 31s 6d, lighter weights to 255, heavy ewes to 255, others to 20s, best hoggets to 18s, medium 10s 6d to 13s. Pigs were short of requirements, porkers selling at fully 5d per lb, and baconers at recent values. Ox beef sold to 28s the 1001 b.
