A Wakapuaka message states that Colpnel Pitt, Attorney J Gfeneral, wlio has- bgen spending a few days at Cabife Bay, while the Legislative Council has-been adjourned, leaves to-day for Wellington, en route for Dunedi* to represent the Government at tne funeral of the late Hon. H. K. Taiaroa. Sir Joseph Ward left Wellington for the* ' South by Friday night's steamer. He opens the new railway station at Gore on Monday, visits Winton oji Tuesday to lay the foundation stone of the new post office, and on Wednesday will be at Bluff to attend, ih& ceremony in connection with the nev dredge, He leaves the same evening on his return to Wellington.
