Sydney, July I.— The ' American barque Abbey Palmer, from New Yotk, had an exciting experience outside the heads last a^ght. A tow tug' went out. The seas were mountainous, and the vessel was gradually drifting inshore. The vessel anchored, and a second tug- went to her assistance, but collided with the vessel, smashing the barque's rudder an<j( rendering her helpless.
